TFBD: September series: Class 4 notes

After a quick warmup, we went right to business! We covered 3 combinations today:

1. The "Diamond" Combo
- right hip up
- chest lock up
- left hip up
- chest lock down
(repeat in a continuous cycle)
For the choreography, we mimic the accents in the music with the four points of this "Diamond" combo.

2. The "Retreat" Combo
- swing left arm from down to back and up while stepping the left foot back.
- with the right hip in front, drop right hip down big/small/small, big/small/small.
(repeat on right side, then left, then right)

3. "Pushed Four Corners" Combo
- walking to the left diagonal, end with weight on left foot, body angled slightly forward. Quarter-note feet. 4 counts.
- pushed chest circle starting left, accenting on the first count with a shoulder shimmy. 4 counts.
- pushed chest circle starting right, accenting on the first count with a shoulder shimmy. 4 counts.
- hip singles starting left (right down). Lock them in place to mimic the hard dums of the music. Eighth-note hips. 4 counts.
(repeat walking to right front corner, back left corner, then back right corner)

Fun stuff! Of course, we reviewed the choreography and was able to run it from beginning to end. Good work everyone!

Next week, we're going to finish this. 'Til then, practice!
